Based on the popular manga and anime series, Shinobu Kocho sheds some light on this great action figure. As one of Kotobukiya’s Fine Art Statues line, this high-quality piece captures the character’s likeness and comes with detailed accessories and clothing pieces that are fully articulated. While it’s based on an older model, this Shinobu Kocho review shows you why it’s still one of Kotobukiya’s most popular action figures today. Shinobu Kocho, the Demon Slayer, is a prevalent character within the world of fantasy anime and manga – but did you know she has her figure as well? Not only that, but it’s a very detailed one with multiple interchangeable parts to give you many options on how you want to pose her in your collection!
About Shinobu
Kochou Shinobu is a character from Rumiko Takahashi’s long-running work, Inuyasha. She is a demi-demon who acts as Inuyasha’s companion, on a mission to slay 1,000 demons and become human. KanColle has done it again with a fantastic rendition of this demon slayer with their new Shinobu kocho figure. The sculpting and paintwork are some of KanColle’s best yet, capturing her confident stride and mischievous grin in every pose they could think of. I highly recommend this figure for fans or anyone looking for a beautifully sculpted piece that can hold its own against higher-end releases.
You won’t be disappointed even if you’re not familiar with the show. In short, demon slayer Shinobu kocho is a beauty that will look great next to your collection. However, she may not be for everyone because her price point puts her at the high end of what most people consider reasonable. Despite this, if you don’t mind spending, she’s worth picking up to admire how gorgeous she looks alone.
Who was Shinobu in love with?
The truth about who she was and how she come to slowly reveal throughout her story as you progress through her chapters. The kocho demon slayer is a character that takes over her body when she loses all hope and courage. She has no proper name or gender. So, it’s fitting that this kocho demon slayer used this name to disguise their true identity. And what’s more, they are using the power of Shinobu’s family blade. The sword smear with the blood of many demons- to slay them. And yet there are still those who do not believe in her abilities. Kocho Demon Slayers can change genders as they please:
They can choose to use a male’s form if they wish. But also have the option of looking like an adorable female demon hunter. As for their personality traits, that too can vary from one KDS to another depend on what type of demon slayer they wish to! But regardless of the type, Kocho Demon Slayers must follow two laws while living amongst humans:
- Never show themselves unless necessary.
- Never reveal your identity to anyone else; otherwise, your life will be forfeit.
- With her twin tails tied up tightly into neat little bunches. And hair bangs frame her face in a style fit for any young girl.
- She appears to be nothing more than a typical high school student.
A sign of the demon inside just waits to pounce out at any given moment! The most impressive part of these figures is their base. Which comes with little pegs you can insert into the ground to make them stand upright. A significant downside, though, especially if this is going to on display somewhere. Is that it leaves no room for variations without appear somewhat repetitive since every single demon slayer has the same pose?
Is Shinobu cute?
Yes, she is. Many people find her adorable and have called her one of their favourite girls in anime. Unsurprisingly, kocho shinobu has an overwhelming amount of fan art. I know it cannot be easy at times to find a girl that you can like. Because there are so many characters out there with different personalities. Still, I think she will make a great addition to your figure collection if you enjoy anime. And want something more potent than just regular girls. She’s also not as much of a tsundere as some of the other female anime characters. Which is excellent for those who don’t care for tsundere. The first episode makes it very clear that she’s intelligent.
Therefore, she capable of thinking outside the box – something we see throughout the rest of the series. This is important because a lot of times in anime. We see women portrayed as either very feminine or manly. But when we see Shinobu show off her intelligence, it’s refreshing for me to watch. She might seem like she doesn’t know what she wants sometimes. But she knows exactly what she wants: Demon slayer Kachou Shinobu. So here it is, folks!
What makes Shinobu Special?
Shinobu from Nisemonogatari was originally a standard succubus in most respects. She’s based on a character from folklore. And has all sorts of powers you’d expect shapeshifting, mind control, and seduction are just some of them. Not only that, but her name is Demon-Slayer Female Shinobu. So, even her actual title is pretty darn strong. Her character design has two distinct art styles, one by Taking and one by Akio Watanabe. The design in Bakemonogatari is just more anime-standard, big eyes, small lips and a skintight outfit.
In contrast, her look in Nisemonogatari is a little more realistic, with proportions that seem less exaggerated. However, it does have the benefit of reveal lots more skin due to its strapless top. And skirt instead of pants like Bakemonogatari’s Shinobu had. In short, if you’re looking for something super funny or cute, go for either look! On the other hand, if you’re looking for something with a little more realism or restraint, I recommend going with the Bakemonogatari-style Shinobu instead.
Shinobu’s Family
Shinobu has a younger sister, Kanao Tsuyuri, who was adopt by her older sister Kanae Kocho. Kanae was the previous Flower Hashira, but she was slain years before Tanjiro met Shinobu. However, Kanae still practices Flower Breathing, as does their older sister. Shinobu is initially resistant to adopting Kanae as her little sister, but she eventually changes her mind when she meets Tanjiro. However, her parents were killed by demons when she was a little girl. So, she enlisted to be a demon slayer figma to ensure anyone else in her position didn’t suffer as she did.
To an extent, she considers the young girls who live with her at the insect mansion to family, at the very least her wards. Therefore, she takes their training very seriously and empathises with their situations. It doesn’t quite address whether or not she adopts those girls as Kanao adopted Kanae, but for all practical purposes, she treats them as younger sisters or daughters just the same as Kanae.
Personality
Shinobu is demonstrate as an adorable girl, maintaining a calm smile in any situation, although fans have reason to doubt that this might her true personality. She claims to want to live peacefully alongside demons as Kanao had wanted but is ruthless in her treatment of demons. Her cruelty toward demons is evident when she gives the Spider Demon Daughter hope that she will help her before killing her with that same smile. She loves her older sister, though, as she always wears her hair. A look at her personality reveals that Shinobu may very well be like her older sister in many respects. She has a calm smile and a tendency to be cheerful, but it is uncertain if that is all there is to her.
Abilities and Skills
As an insect, Hashira Shinobu practices Insect breathing, a technique she pioneered to meet her specific strengths and weaknesses. Despite belong to the Hahira and regard as one of the most potent Demon Slayers available, she cannot decapitate a demon. Her blade instead contains wisteria poison, which ensures her opponents’ deaths. Developing her swordsmanship skills has also helped her deliver this poison. Again, in homage to her physical weakness, she does not have a traditional style to the figma demon slayer Corps.
She favours simple slashes and stabs, specifically designed to send poison deep into her enemies with more incredible speed than other attacks, such as Water Breathing’s Drop Ripple Thrust Form. As they fought the spider demon, viewers could see the skills at her disposal, such as using Butterfly Dance Caprice. She struck the demon multiple times before she had the time to register what was happening.
Along these lines, there’s also an interesting question that’s brought up. And the demon is in for more of an ordeal, for before struck, he sees a swarm of butterflies fly through, one even landin on his finger. This could be a visual representation of his attack, much like the droplets of water and fire associated with Tanjiro’s Breath of Water attack. But, on the other hand, this might also be a consequence of the attack since they never did interact with these visual cues of Tanjiro’s.
